Sound Waves and Restoratives with Pepper Monroe + Jessica Caplan

Friday April 15th, 2016 – 6:30-8:30pm

The vibrant energy of Spring invites us to action. The season is a playground for the senses: we inhale the scent of budding leaves and flowers, feel the sun on our skin, hear the sounds of nature waking up. Just as nature is having her rebirth, we too are experiencing our own renewal after the hibernation of winter. We may feel newly inspired, and we may also feel exhausted and taxed as the pace of life speeds up. Join us as we transition into this new season of doing by pausing to nourish yourself and the seeds you’ve planted.

In this two-hour event, we’ll settle into stillness, guided through a sequence of Restorative yoga poses by Pepper. Using the support of blankets and bolsters, this style of yoga allows body and mind to release tension, reset and heal. Therapeutic sound, a powerful tool for reaching meditative states, magnifies this deep unwinding, creating an inward journey guided by music and the imagination. Set to Jessica’s soothing soundscape, created spontaneously with singing bowls, tuning forks, shrutti box, vocals and Shamanic instruments, we will melt into the poses and into the waves of sound vibration.

We’ll nurture our taste buds with a homemade, organic Springtime-inspired treat after the session. All are welcome! The class is slow, nourishing and suitable for everyone.
